Look back on 2007 World Cup…
It was four years ago already! FIPFA just was wrapping up its first year of activity when the first World Cup started. Japan and its capital city Tokyo had the privilege to host seven countries (Japan, United States, Belgium, England, Denmark, Portugal and France) nominated to compete during the first international competition of the sport ever organized.
October 9th, 2007, Japan and Belgium played the opning game of the round robin phase… Four days later, they were batteling again in the 3rd place final to earn the bronze medal that Belgium brought home after a terrible shootout session. This was a nice appetizer before an epic championship game opposing the favorite of the competition, France and the United States.
What could you imagine better in this fantastic World Cup Championship game? This ultimate game was an exciting and undecided match that everyone hasn’t forget due to its dramatic ending. After a long shootout session, USA defeated France and the US player were on the top of the World. Team USA is going to defend its title at Halle Carpentier from November 2nd onward.
